America's Best: Eyewear to Remember
Eyewear to Remember is a nod to the 1940s, with new-millenium special effects.
All the actors were meant to embody a classic 1940s character: a gangster and his moll, guys and girls on a date, sailors on leave and the Walter Winchell-type reporter (played by Joseph Small).
The result is a high-energy, eye-catching spot.
The Director of Photography was the amazing veteran
Dick Quinlan. Longtime AMI associate and HBO director Brent Owens co-produced and Steven Meyer of Blink (formerly Image Design) arranged the flame effects.
America's Best: Teacher
Teacher was a pivotal experience for AMI, Flamingo Advertising, and their longtime client, America's Best Contacts and Eyeglasses.
It brought together powerful visual concepts with copy that sold the product and entertained at the same time.
It was shot by John Inwood of Nickelodeon's "Pete and Pete," "The Day Trippers" and "Seven Ways til Sunday" fame. Joseph Small makes his final glorious appearance as the "Teacher". It was a joy to make.
The editing was done on AMI's Avid system. Effects were
beautifully executed by Bill Mahler at Rhinoceros in New York City.
America's Best: Psycho Mom
Psycho Mom was a collaboration between Flamingo Advertising and Broadway Video.
It was definitely a transitional commercial for Flamingo,
thanks to Art Director John Jamalkowski. He designed a humorous and effective live action spot that set the tone for many later commercials.
Telly Award Grand Finalist.
Gariepy Furniture: Arrest
This project was influenced by the local commercial masters Rhett and Link www.rhettandlink.com. Our good friend at Fat Man Marketing, Steve Gillis brought this project to American Montage hoping to achieve the same kind of smart and zany energy Rhett and Link bring to their productions. Eric reached out to his Theater Fanatic buddy Andrew Shaifer to stir up some memorable laughs for Gariepy Furniture
in Leominster, Mass. Good times were had for all. Shaifer, Marciano and Gillis conceptualized. Marciano produced, directed, shot and edited with Libby Fabricatore.
Meredith Marciano provided the voice over. Strange how much Steve Gariepy enjoyed getting arrested isn't it?
America's Best: Auctioneer
Yet another America's Best spot that required the acting talent of Joseph Small, the cinematography of Kramer Morganthau and special effects work of AMI.

This Day in Hollywood
This amazing series of short vignettes on the legends and lore of Hollywood was produced for Tom Ashley of Ashley Entertainment.
The 366 segments combined stock footage, stills and original artwork. The series was written and supervised by Mark Durand of "This Week in Baseball" and ESPN fame.A unique piece was made for each calendar date. For example, May 6th was Orson Welles'birthday, so a piece would be devoted to an aspect of his life.
This series aired around the world from 1988 through 1995.
John Dempsey Hospital
Nursing was shot on location at John Dempsey Hospital on 16mm film.
This spot was part of a nursing recruitment campaign which required a number of shoots to be done over a year. Eric Marciano combined an interview with a childhood cancer survivor who later became a nurse with images gathered from the hospital.
The post was done on our Avid here at AMI's facilities in New York City. It took about a week of editing to achieve this powerful, multi-layered look.
