Narrowcast, a beautifully-filmed 35mm short has been both wildly praised and widely assailed.
It is a sharply witty satire revealing the exploitation that is an operative norm in the television industry, Narrowcast is the story of the powerful and the powerless, both of whom are equally ridiculous, and dangerous.
From his observations of the TV industry over the past 14 years, Marciano will attest (as an editor, producer, and director) to the unethical and self-serving treatment of important issues and innocent individuals. A second inspiration for Narrowcast comes from observing the gay culture of New York throughout the 80s and 90s.
The results are clear in his convincing treatment of the central character, "Ms. Candy Cane," as she is unwittingly exploited for her television-rating potential.
