JAMES MTUME is a Grammy Award winning music producer, composer for film and television, songwriter and musician. He has worked with acclaimed R artists Roberta Flack, Stephanie Mills, Lou Rawls, the Spinners, D'Angelo, and Mary J. Blidge. Mtume's career is distinguished by his ongoing social and political activism. Today he is the host of New York's number one political talk show.

FELIPE LUCIANO is best known as a community activist and founder of the Young Lords Party is the late 1960's in New York City. He was the first Puerto Rican news anchor on a major network (WNBC). As a member of the Original Last Poets he was instrumental in the genesis of Spoken Word and rap music.

C. DANIEL DAWSON Multi-talented artist, Professor Daniel Dawson has worked as a photographer, filmmaker, curator, and scholar. Professor Dawson discusses communities of color that have fought for and established "liberated zones" of social, political, and artistic sovereignty in the past and the present. His presentation is especially relevant given the growing opportunities for community formation around free speech and artistic expression on the Internet.

DERRICK BELL Lawyer, activist, teacher and writer, Derrick Bell is a compelling voice on issues of race and class in our society. He has published several books and articles and is best known for his series of allegorical stories featuring his fictional heroine, Geneva Crenshaw.
